The 8 pointed Star represents Venus, also known as Moon-Sun and Ishtar. Because it can be observed clearly and longer than any other star, it served as a guide for the Essenes on their journey through the desert. The number 8 is the number of fate, destiny, manifestation, Divine Justice and Heaven on Earth (As Above So Below). The 8 pointed star or octagram, also represents the Law of Cause and Effect (What you sow, you shall reap.) It was used by the Rosycrucians in the 17th century as a symbol for the 8 points of a geometrical universe that was guarded by 8 angels.
